The Honor Society of Leap Day Babies was launched in April l, 1997, with the sole purpose of celebrating people born on Leap Year Day. Since then 1000's have joined the society. Their ranks are listed in our Honor Roll.  Leap Years happen EVERY four years, like it or not. The way humans have kept track of time has been through many changes. February 29, Leap Year is everyone's extra day. Everyone using the Gregorian Calendar will have a Leap Year Day. It represents balance and harmony between the earth and our calculation of time. In the same way volunteering and doing something nice for someone else brings balance and harmony to our individual lives. What better way, in this day and age, to celebrate balance and harmony than with a special day to promote it... at least every 4 years with an extra day to do it. It's probably THE most important day on the calendar because of the position it holds and the duty it performs. If we did not have an extra day every four years we would not be able to predict, with such precision, what days the other holidays will land on. This extra day has only one purpose. One reason for being. It is there to maintain balance between the calendar and the spinning earth. Let's Celebrate the Spin and recognize Leap Year Day! Our goal is for February 29 to receive the recognition it deserves on the calendar.

It's all about time - about February 29!

James Collins of Texas, USA, born Leap Day 1968 says:
In a non Leap Year, on February 28th, you can tell people this:
When they ask, "When's your birthday?"
You answer, "It's the day after today but it's not tomorrow. And it's the day before tomorrow but it's not today."
