The New York Daily News published the celebration story on March 1, so I missed the gala event at the Plaza HoteLl, of course I was very disappionted. I am 43 now I will 44 my next Leap Birthday I never met anyone born February 29. I would like meet someone who was born February 29 and we can be kids again. When I think of the things I did when I was a kid, maybe I could get away with the things if I did them again. I need a kid my age to play with!

Finally hit 21 in the year 2000. Now legal to drive, drink and stay out all night. As per English tradition, presented the key to the house.

While delivering newspapers on my route in Jamestown N.Y. back in 1929, I by
chance met one of my customers who was born on Feb. 29, 1896. She told me
that she was eight years old before she celebrated her first birthday.
(Raenell's Note: 1900 was not a Leap Year, so her First Birthday was in 1904!)

I believed I was born on March 1 until I was 13 years old. Can you guess how
I know I am a Leap Day Baby?

I'm so glad I finally found all of you!! I've always wanted to meet/know
another "Leaper" and here there're hundreds of you. It's funny that living in
a city with nearly 4 million inhabitants and having traveled all over the
world I've never bumped into another "Leaper". One more thing; I consider all
of you not as "fellow-sufferers" but as "fellow-lucky-ones." SPECIAL: that's
what we are!!!

You know that term 'strength in numbers'? Well...don't we all feel that now?!! Cheers to all!!

At least at 84 years, we'll get to celebrate our 21st Birthday!

When I started school (five years old), in the beginning of the course, all kids in class underlined their date of birth in a big calendar. I didn't find the 29th of February and some of my classmates laughed at me. I was very sad. But now, I am very proud to be a Leap Day Baby, and they are jealous. It's such a very special day, of course. The other days are such very normal days! Latro P.D.

Hello to all Leap Day Babies all over the world. I am waiting for your letters, especially if you are born in 1968 (but not necessarily).
2412. Julian Wolter Schoenmakers2000
Julian is very special, the moment he was born all the planets, sun and moon were visible in the sky. By coincidence his parents named him Julian, like the inventor of the Julian date. Moreover Julian means something like 'forever young'; this is very appropriate because as a Leap Day Baby his age will be forever young.

When I met my girlfriend, I knew she was a leap year baby before she said a word. I could see it in her eyes. Cue X Files music!!!!!!!!!.

A local car dealership offered leap year children $29 to come in for a test drive on Feb. 29! I went, mostly to see if anyone else had shown up, but none had. There's got to be some around here!

Two sets of balloons came in to my first period 3 years ago and it turns out that a guy 2 seats behind me is a leap day baby Born at 1:05 pst! We're good friends now!

In 1994 I went to language school in London. I lived with a guest family together with a Japanese girl, from the same school, that seemed to speak no English. On the first evening Yumi (the Japanese girl), my guest-mum and I, were talking in the living-room. I told my 'mum' that my birthday is on the 29th of February and Yumi said "Me too"!!! We thought that she didn't understand what we were talking about, but she took out her passport and showed her birthday: 29.2.1976. So I lived 3 weeks together in one room with another Leap Day Baby!

I have heard rumors that there are other leap day persons out there --but in the absence of empirical evidence I will reserve my judgment.

Until stumbling upon this web page I thought I was the only one! HELLO brothers and sisters!

While I was waiting to take a flight at the Pittsburgh airport, I was passing the time playing video games. A guy playing the game I was waiting to use had to input his birthday as part of the game. His birthday is February 29th, 1972. It really is a small world.

I have met quite a few leap year babies over the years. The first fellow leap year baby I met was my new found friend in 4th grade. We were exchanging birthdates over a game of 2-square on the school playground. We were quite surprised to have the same birthdays.

When I was in the Navy in 1960 we were heading west on a westpac cruise (Japan). It was Feb. 28th and I was looking forward to my upcoming birthday. Well we crossed the international date line that night and the next morning was March 1st and I missed my birthday I had been waiting for four years to celabrate. What a bummer that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've met one other person with a birthday the same as mine...it was just about a month ago at a bar! We were both complaining about turning 30...he asked when..and I said ..."you won't believe me..." he said......."let me see your license..." so...we do the ID exchange....we both kept looking at them, then looking at each other laughing! It was so weird! Thats about my only fun story right now!

The most annoying thing about being a leap year baby is the question that is always asked..."So when do you celebrate it?" My response - "As often as I can!!" :-)
Such a Responsibility

Have never met another leap day baby face to face, but would like to talk to some about how they deal with the responsibility of being a leap day person.
Stupid Bureaucracy!

When I got my driver's license the agent insisted that my birthday could not be Feb 29. She wouldn't put that on my license until another agent explained leap year to her.
Smart Bureaucracy!

My dad always claimed that all insurance policies were changed to read "21 years of age" rather than "21st birthday" after the insurance agent was told I would be 84 years old on my 21 st birthday!
