My leap day story is ... My son was born 2/29/08 at 6.27 pm
he weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and he was 27 inches. Its funny
because my whole family made bets wether he would be born or
Leap Day or not. So lets just say I "LOST" everyone bet he
would be born on Leap Day and he was. I was so excited I cried
but behind all that the only thing that was going through my
head was "how will i teach him 2 birthdays " but i love it
and i love him.

For the first time on my 6th birthday I met a man celebrating
his 16th birthday, but hes the only one. When I was 5 my
parents told me I didn't have no birthday this
year and that they weren't throwing a party for me that year.
I was extremely upset. At 5, it was the end of my world. After
throwing a fit they decided to throw me a party on the 27th
and as we were about to blow out the candles all the people at
the party left because my sister was in labor and was having
her daughter Tiffany. Needless to say it was the worst
birthday party.

Folks,I know a few people with this very special birthday, but
I am the only person I know Who has had a relative will them
their birthday because they felt sorry for me having my
birthday only once every four years. My Great-grandmother on
my father's side gave my her birthday when she passed away.
What a great gift, don't you think? Still, I really like
having such a special birthday, and only celebrate my
leapyear birthday.

My daughter was the second Leap Day baby born at the hospital
on Leap Day. She also was born with a special heart, meaning
she has several Congenital Heart Defects and has had to
undergo 2 open heart surgeries already and unfortunately might
be having more in the future. Her name is Lilyana, or Lily for
short, we find it a VERY fitting name now that she is a
Leaper, when I think of Lilys, I think of lilypads, and frogs,
which leap...She will deffinantly be celabrating all her
honorary birthdays in February, she is not a March child!

Leap Year Twins! Yeah! Our Mummy was in the hospital for
eleven days prior to our arrival. We were waiting for room in
the NICU, but it was full. On leap year, it just cleared
out (and funny enough no more came in that day) - so the Dr
decided it was our time to arrive - despite Mummy & Daddy
wanting any day but Leap Year!! Now, we'll just have to
celebrate 'unbirthday's' until the next Leap Year! Special
babies, we are!! xoxo.

29th, and was convinced it would be the perfect birthday for
my baby, albeit 3 weeks early! I told everyone at work that
day that it was my baby's birthday, and sure enough Nolan
Lawrence was brought into this world via an emergency c
section a few hours after my appointment. He was perfect,
just feet first and ready to see the world!

I didn't know I was a Leap Year baby until 3rd grade. Another
girl in my class was telling about her big sister's friend
only being four years old because she was born on a Leap Year.
When I went home I told my parents and they looked at each
other and then said "you are too!". We had a big celebration
that night. They've never told me why they kept it from me.

find out the sex so the whole day of labor was super exciting.
Crazy thing is we had her at 511pm and the hospital miswrote
it and nurse wrote 506. haha she told be at time she was
unsure and I looked at her after labor and said who cares what
ever. haha I look forward to celebrating her interesting
birthday for the rest of her life.

I just celebrated my 6th birthday and out of those 24 years, I
have only met 2 other fellow leapers. One was the awesome
drummer Johnny Rabb (1972) and a friend's mother (?). Were you
aware of the infamous leapers like Aileen Wurnos and Richard
Ramirez aka The Night Stalker? Luckily we are mostly pleasant
pisceans. Nice site btw very informative. Have a nice day and

I was rushed with the flying squad in emergency, my mother had
an accident I was diverted through preswick, I decided to pop
out into the world then. I was diverted into the carpark of
prestwick police station it was touch and go, my mother's life
or me. My mum wanted to carry on... 2 minutes past midnight I
was born I must have been the youngest to enter the police
records but it does not stop... I was the first Leap Day baby
in Ayrshire in records and daily papers. I am 13 now, seems
like yesterday my mother died aged 66. I miss her so much a
brave kind hearted lady. Happy Birthday to all Leap Day babies
all over the world forever!

I would have never expected my son to be born on this day,
considering he was a week late. Even though at the time I
wanted him out when he was due, which was ironically the 19th,
which was the time he was born, i think it's really cool that
he is my Leap Year baby! I also found out that his great
grandpa was a leap year baby.
